I have grown up in a christian household, surrounded by godly community. My Dad was a youth pastor before I was born and for the first few years of my life, and my Mom has been on Mission trips.
Serving the community has always been important to me whether it’s in the church or if it’s just people around me in my everyday life. I have been an anxious person my entire life, however it started getting worse between 5th and 6th grade. This was when covid hit and we were in lock down. Not only was I at home I also switched schools and churches over that time span. Before that I had already struggled with making friends however it was even worse then. Through middle school I was staring to have thoughts of self harm.
In my 8th grade year I started coming to Biltmore Students consistently, at first I struggled with meeting people however this is where I met my best friend and leaders strong in their faith who push and encourage me in my faith. They helped me out of the dark place I was in.
In my sophomore year Arden youth created the Student Serve Ten. I have been serving on that consistently for nearly two years now, helping set up and serve the student ministry. I am doing this because I want to be able to help the students feel welcome and help younger students like me know that they aren’t alone.
